Is this really the path to a spiritual breakthrough?

people say fasting is spiritual and how its a gateway to the supernatural and like how miracles will happen through fasting and i've read like 4-5 fasting books and i fasted for 8 days but i stopped now- i think i've stopped the fast for about a week now. BUT I SERIOUSLY FELT NOTHING spiritual, nothing different, i just felt weak, tired and hungry and i dont know if i healed at all through fasting. anyone feel the same way? that you feel nothing spiritual while fasting and that you dont hear from who you're praying to? please tell me your opinion why nothing supernatural happened to me..WHY DO MY FASTING BOOKS AND ALL FASTING TESTIMONIES GUARANTEE that miracles WILL HAPPEN and your prayers WILL be heard and answered through fasting? i fasted and prayed. but nothing changed!! or...do i have to wait longer in order to see results? HERE'S THE REAL QUESTION i mean, is it possible for some poeple to not feel like they're advancing in the spirit or hearing any divine connection with whomever they pray to while they fast? do they also have to wait a while after the fast? cause my fasting books GUARANTEE that while you fast good things happen quickly and get resolved quickly.
