I have a computer a compact presario?

I have a computer a compact presario. it doesn't work i took the hard drive out and try it on a different cpu and the hard rive works fine, but when i try it on my compact it gets stuck on the screen were it says compact were it haves the F keys. well i will appreciate if any one knows about this kind of problem. Thanks
