Cisco or Microsoft certification for quick job move? What to verify concerning training centers?

I do not have a degree as of yet, am a part-time student. I want to switch jobs ASAP. I was considering taking the community college route but their program is at least a year and I want something shorter than that. Which IT/computer cert is more likely to get someone with no experience and no degree a job? Cisco? Microsoft? or something else? I've been hearing Cisco because a lot of people aren't Cisco certified but I also hear that if you don't have experience then forget it. So if I took some training over the summer which cert would get me a job by August 2010.
