I am looking for a book ? A young adult science fiction book?

I don't remember the title or the author's name,but the story was about a young alien man who comes to earth with several other young alien males in search of a mate.The females on the alien's home-world had died following a devastating drought and a disease that killed only the females.He finds one human girl willing to go with him but in the end he doesn't take her because he fell in love with her and didn't want her to become a baby machine.Also life on his world was rather oppressive.So if you know which book I am referring to,please give me the title and name of the author.Please.Thank You.
